IPSY GLAM BAG ⋆OCTOBER 2017⋆ REVIEW & SWATCHES

Ipsy is a monthly beauty subscription service that includes 4 to 5 beauty items (varies from makeup, skincare, fragrance, haircare, and tools based on your personal preference survey) for $10 a month including shipping and tax. All the items come in an exclusively designed cosmetic bag. There are also detailed tutorials and exclusive offers for each product on Ipsy site. Ipsy is available in both U.S. and Canada (additional $5 fee applies).

Item #1

Chella
Eyebrow Pencil in Elegant Ebony – FULL SIZE! VALUE $18.00!

I received the shade Elegant Ebony which is “a bold black hue perfect for you medium-to-dark brunettes and raven-hairedbeauties”. The pigmentation is not crazy intense and feathers nicely as a brow product. It has a skinny round tip designed for precise applications, but there is no spoolie attached. I like this kind of twist-up/mechanical type of brow pencil more than the pencil kinds for the convenience. The consistency is creamy and a bit crumbly, even though it applied smoothly, there was still some visible crumble in between my eyebrows. Perhaps using a flat eyeshadow brush could smudge it out better. It lasted all day long, and the shade was perfect to match my black hair and natural brow color.

Item #2

ESSENCE COSMETICS
Satin Touch Blush in Satin Love 20 – FULL SIZE! VALUE $2.99!

Essence is one of the most affordable cosmetic brands with outstanding quality. I was so glad to receive this blush in my October glam bag! The print is very nice and it adds a more expensive vibe to this product. The shade Satin Love 20 is a warm corally brown with a satin finish. The formula is silky-soft with rich pigmentation. It applied evenly and blended out easily without looking dusty. My cheeks were slightly luminous, but this blush did not emphasize my pores or other skin textures. This blush is my favorite item this month!

Item #3

IT Cosmetics
Bye Bye Pores Pressed Powder  – SAMPLE SIZE (3G)! VALUE $9.60!

I actually own this powder in full-size and I really love it! It is a soft translucent setting powder that blurs out pores and imperfections with an airbrushed finish. I have combination skin with oily T-tone, and this powder works like magic to keep my makeup matte for an extended period of time. This powder is also great for retouching throughout the day. The sample size powder contains 1/3 of the full-size products (very generous sample), it is a cute mini to put in your everyday cosmetic pouch or bring it with you for traveling. It even included a mini sponge applicator!

  • No special offers for IT Cosmetics at this time, but you can purchase this at IT Cosmetics, ULTA, and other makeup retailers for $29.00.

Item #4

TONYMOLY
Peach Hand Cream – SAMPLE SIZE (10 ml)! VALUE $4.00!

A mini hand cream that smells like peach and moisturizes your skin with “the blend of apricot and peach extracts and shea butter.” The consistency is light and fast-absorbing with a lingering scent. Again, this mini-sized hand cream saves a lot of space in your cosmetic pouch, and it is nice to have whenever you need that extra moisturizer or peachness!

I actually requested this specific item from Ipsy to make sure it was included in my bag. Just recently I found out that you select one item from the spoiler by emailing the Ipsy team (preferably emailing from the email address associated with your Ipsy account or include that information).

  • No special offers for TONYMOLY this time, but you can purchase this at TONYMOLY, ULTA, and other makeup retailers for $12.00.

Item #5

BLAQ
Mask – SAMPLE SIZE (15 ml)! VALUE $7.25!

It claims to be “a detox for your skin. Activated charcoal (the main ingredient) gets rid of toxins and impurities deep in your pores”. I can’t really review this mask because I personally do not believe in any kinds of instant blackheads removing products that involves peeling. I had tried many of the similar types of product in the past when I was younger, but none of them had a long lasting result, and all the blackheads grew back soon after with my skin being irritated. I will pass this to someone who is more interested in trying this mask.

⭐️ Bonus Item ⭐️

I redeemed 500 Ipsy points for this lip pencil. The shade 952 NUDE is a pinkish nude with a matte finish. It glides on smoothly with rich pigmentation and a long-wearing formula. Surprisingly, I also received this in the shade 955 SPICE in my October Boxycharm. I really like this neutral color, and I paired it with Tarte Tarteist™ Quick Dry Matte Lip Paint in the shade Get It (also from my October Boxycharm) to create these ombre lips for a more volumizing look. Even though I am not a fan of pencil products (I prefer mechanical kinds), I still like this lip liner for its formula and color.

  • No special offers for Jontebluthis time, but you can purchase this at Jonteblu  $5.00.

I wore these items for this makeup look:

  • ESSENCE COSMETICS Satin Touch Blush in Satin Love 20
  • Chella Eyebrow Pencil in Elegant Ebony
  • IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores Pressed Powder
  • Jonteblu Lip Liner Pencil in 952 Nude

Overall, all six items add up to a total value of $46.84! The value is great and I love all the items I received except the mask. I do not have much to say but subscribe to Ipsy if you like to experiment new products as I do!
