NARS Duo Eyeshadow in Kuala Lumpur Review & Swatches

NARS Duo Eyeshadow in Kuala Lumpur Review & Swatches

You are reading an extremely honest/brutal review about NARS Duo Eyeshadow in Kuala Lumpur. This review is solely based on my own experience and it might be different for others. Please do not be offended if you love this product so much. Disappointing products happen all the time.

Product Description

This long-wearing, crease-resistant formula is uniquely paired in dazzling and creative color combinations, expertly coordinated by François Nars. Worn together or alone, these shades are richly pigmented and can be applied sheer or built up for a more dramatic effect. Used wet, these shadows also double as eyeliners.

Modern, unique, sometimes unexpected color combinations of eyeshadow shades. Worn alone or together, all Duo Eyeshadow shades feature micro-fine powders that are highly pigmented, longwearing and crease resistant. Color glides on smoothly, evenly and blends effortlessly. The effects can be subtle or smoldering — the options are endless.

  • True color application
  • Can be applied dry or with a dampened brush for stronger intensity
  • Multi-function use for shading, lining and highlighting the eyes
  • Classic, neutral, and fashion-forward shade pairings

Price

0.14 oz/ 4 g for $36

Packaging

I am not a big fan of Nars’ signature cases. While the brand new products look neat and professional, the matte surface gets dusty quickly, and it is a fingerprint collector.

Application and Pigmentation

  • poor pigmentation
  • does not apply evenly on my eyes
  • patchy, difficult to blend out
  • brilliant color scheme (the only good thing I can say about the product)

Swatches

I used Eyeshadow Primer Potion from Urban Decay as the base for the swatches and eye makeup. The swatches are shown in both natural indoor lighting and flashlight.

The colors are so beautiful. Sparking shimmers and all that.

I did 2 makeup looks. The 1st one is a light application using fingertips.

I guess this duo is good for sheer finished makeup looks.

The 2nd look is a more intense application. I added a taupe shade as the transition color on my eye sockets.

Conclusion

I really do not have much to say about this eyeshadow duo other than I AM SO DISAPPOINTED.  For $36,  I expected something much better. Nars products have been popular for many years, and this particular product in this particular shade was so hyped up over the internet. It was described as “a must have”,”the best eyeshadow duo ever”, and many other overrating terms. I love Nars and I have purchased many eyeshadows (the formula varies from the shade to shade tho) over the year, but this one item is a miss for me.
