Essence Liquid Lipstick in Colour Party, Beauty Secret, and Make a Statement review & swatches
Essence Liquid Lipstick in Colour Party, Beauty Secret, and Make a Statement.
“Liquid love! This Essence Liquid Lipstick combines the best of both lipstick and lip gloss. Get the impact and coverage of a lipstick with the moisturizing shine of a gloss. Not tested on animals.”
Similar to other drugstore brands’ lipgloss tubes, a thick plastic case with the colors showed on the cap.
Application and Pigmentation
Essence Liquid Lipsticks had a sheer to medium coverage and they applied fairly evenly with a glossy finish. These did not leave any stains on the lips after I wiped them off due to their sheerness. The consistency was thick and creamy with an artificial candy scent. The formula felt hydrating and did not dry out my lips after a long period of wearing.
From left to right: Colour Party, Beauty Secret, and Make a Statement
Colour Party is a light barbie pink, this particular shade sinked into my lip lines and the color was a bit uneven. It is my personal least favorite color, I cannot see myself wearing this unless pairing with darker lipsticks or lip liners.
Beauty Secret is a peachy coral, the type of versatile color you can wear every day with all kinds of looks or no makeup at all.
Make a Statement is a red with a slight mauve undertone. The picture shown is brighter than the actual color. This shade is my favorite out of all three, it is a brilliant color.
Overall, I really liked the Essence Liquid Lipstick except for the shade Colour Party. They have amazing values and are some of the most affordable beauty items I ever purchased. These actually reminded me a lot about the Addict Fluid Stick from Dior, they had very similar texture and coverage.
